FAQs - Schools3D Tours
What is a virtual tour?
A virtual tour is a sequence of 360 images combined to create a virtual experience of a location, allowing the user to tour a location as if they were there in person.
How does a virtual tour help our school?
Virtual tours can work alongside in person tours. They give families something they can view in their own time and revisit in more detail and can also be used if an in-person tour is not possible or one parent cannot attend.
How would our school use a virtual tour?
The virtual tour can be embedded on the school website
A QR code can be added to any printed material, allowing people to quickly view the tour on their phone
A link of the virtual tour can be emailed after an in-person tour, or request for information about enrolling
A link to be sent to newly enrolled students and new staff
The tour can be shared on social media and with the wider school community
What if there are changes to the school in future? Can the virtual tour be updated?
Yes. One of the advantages of a virtual tour is that it is fully editable. 360 images can be added and removed in future without needing to re-create the entire tour again.
Can you edit the 360 images to remove unwanted visual details
Yes, we use Photoshop to edit or patch over any unwanted visuals such as random holes in walls/ceilings, minor graffiti, patches of dirt in outdoor areas etc. We can also remove or blur posters with students’ faces/names on them.
Can we add other video and audio clips to the tour?
Yes, this is optional. Some schools choose to include video clips of the Principal, staff and students to provide more information about the school. While we can film and produce this video content, schools are also welcome to supply their own video clips which we can embed into the tour.
Can you produce video content, and provide other photography services?
Yes. Video content can be created as a standalone tour or embedded into a virtual tour. We also offer drone imagery, video and still image photography.
Is an aerial 360 image included in the tour?
Yes, we take an aerial 360 image to show the full grounds and location of the school.
We are close to an airport – can we still include the aerial 360 campus image?
Yes. If the school is close to an airport and in a no-fly zone, we can notify the airport 24 hours before and receive an unlock pin to fly the drone at certain times.
Can you make the tour run automatically?
Yes, automated tours can be created to show the virtual tour in a video format. Some uses for this include running the tour on a loop on internal TV screens or showing on a monitor at a presentation or tradeshow.
Do you create virtual tours for other industries, or only schools?
We work with many different industries, and have created virtual tours for hospitals, schools camps, hospitality venues, golf courses and more. We created the Schools3D website to provide specific information for schools.
